Dustin's New Monster Wagon!

Never in a million years would I have ever imagined that the first vehicle I bought myself would be a van...look what Utah has done to me! No more gangsta truck. Sold it and bought a sweet van that runs on natural gas - a whopping 63 cents per gallon. And, the goobernatorial (mispell intentional) folks give me a nice, fat tax credit at the end of the year. Van is being pimped out as we speak ("as I write" just doesn't sound as good), so stay tuned for more pics.

Late & Bored

Caren's been buggin' me to grace the posts of our blog with my own words, so I thought now would be as good a time as any. Am I embarrassed that the 3:00 a.m. time that I'm writing this will be displayed when I publish the post??? Nah, not really. If you know me, you know I'm a night owl. And, as you can gather from Caren's last post, my attention is focused elsewhere when she's not snoozing. By the way, she's crazy in her sleep. I can't tell you how many times she has freaked out pointing at the ceiling - scared to death of whatever it is she sees in her dreams. It's pretty funny...unless she knocks the laptop off the bed. Thursday night I only got about 2 hours of sleep (thank costa vida & our friendly, pouncy little kitten who found my face at 4:00 a.m.), so I told Caren not to even think about waking me up Saturday morning. Eleven hours later, I emerged from my lair refreshed and rejuvenated...still too wired to get some shut-eye at the moment. Just finished my lesson for the priests quorum tomorrow, which happens to be on my favorite topic: missionary work. I'm now ready to get on an airplane and fly back down to Peru for a couple of weeks. Pretty odd how six years later I still get mission trunky. I actually got a chance to poke my head in over at the MTC yesterday and volunteer as an "investigator" at the TRC. Good times...I highly recommend taking an hour or two to go sit in when you get a chance. It's amazing how impacting the Spirit is in the most simple of teachings. Other than that, life is good. I have a big gorilla outfit I bought for Monster Sak to use in some sidewalk advertising, so we decided to break it out tonight and go see if we could scare some people. It was a terrible disappointment, let me tell ya! We went to my brother's place, and I hid in the dark while Caren tapped on the back door to lure them out. Unfortunately, Caren went and stood in a wide open spot holding the video camera on the door as Rodney answered it. Somehow, he spooked a little bit when I jumped out at him, but seeing as how he spotted Caren right away, we ruined our hopes of making him scream like a girl. Who will be our next victim??? That's it for now...I guess it's Discovery Planet until I doze off. Ate logo!

I LOVE BLOGGING!

I just love this blogging stuff! It's so fun to see what everyone is up to and also to stop and contemplate my life and all the good in it. I also love finding old friends that I haven't seen or talked to for a while and seeing what they are up to. So thanks to all of you who encouraged me to actually start one for me and Dustin! Speaking of Dustin... I just have to say that I am about the luckiest girl on the planet. He is so good to me and is always encouraging me to stretch myself and become better. When we were engaged I was head over heals in 'la la' love with Dustin which was amazing and I thought I knew what I was getting myself into when I said yes but I really didn't know. I had no idea that it was going to be this great and this wonderful. We love to do everything together. (Dustin always says he can't get any work done at home when I'm here and awake and I take that as a compliment! We just can't get enough of each other! We have the best relationship and I realize more each day how blessed I am to have him in my life. Love ya babe!

Oh the things they will think... and say!

Teaching first grade definitely has it's times of comic relief. As a first grade team we always joke that if we only had a video camera rolling during the day we would win the $100,000 grand prize on America's Funniest Home Videos. Just today my first graders came inside from afternoon recess. The weather is finally starting to look like Spring (thank goodness) when Tate walks in saying, "I think I have sweaty in my elbows, I think I have sweaty in my elbows." I looked over to see him fanning under his arms. I said "Tate, where are your elbows?" He looked at me for a few minutes then got a little grin on his face... "Oops, well I do have sweaty right here." Ha ha. The one that takes the cake for this months was Caeden. We were reviewing a grammar lesson on capitalization of names when some of my kids wanted to capitalize dad. I told them that we didn't know who's dad they were talking about, it could be Kamryn's dad or Caeden's dad so it didn't need to be capitalized. Recess was right after this lesson when Caeden walked over and said "Mrs. Robison I don't have a dad (which I knew he did because I have seen him many times). My dad's an alien." I clarified and he would not back down. His dad was an alien. Later it came up again when he wrote about it during writing time and I asked some more questions. Apparently his dad works in the jungle chasing dangerous animals. When he's not in the jungle he wears his person suit. Caeden has never seen his dad without his person suit his dad just told him he was an alien. Sometimes his dad will go back to the spaceship! His mom though is not an alien which makes Caeden a half alien and his twin brother would vouch for him. It was all I could do to keep a strait face as I tried to remember every word. Aren't kids so funny!

Welcome to our Blog!

Well, I finally did it... started our blog. I actually started one over the summer but only posted one post. I would have started a few weeks ago but I couldn't find a cute backdrop until today (thanks for that website Rach!) So I told Dustin that I was going to start a blog and I was looking for cute backdrops and he said well don't make it girly so that's why we have a beach. It's totally gender neutral and we LOVE the beach! Most of you know that we just got back from a Mexican Rivera cruise where we were on the beach a lot! It is SO relaxing and beautiful. Hopefully we'll be going back soon! Well a little update on our happenings down here in Utah County. I'm in my second year of teaching first grade in Orem. It's going really great. I've got 26 bubbly bounding first graders. Dustin is running Monster Sak, a business he started about two years ago. We just moved locations to an industrial unit in southeast Provo. Also Gear for Guys in the University Mall is selling Monster Saks now! We bought a house on the east bench in south provo to be closer to work. Dustin got called to be the Priest Advisor in Young Mens and I am the Relief Society pianist and also I get to play the organ for the whole month of March, crazy but it's a great learning experience. We just celebrated our 2 year anniversary. It's incredible to me that it's already been two years! We just celebrated our two year anniversary by going on a cruise to Mexico! In the back of a crazy Mexican truck that took us to our excursion in Puerto Vallerta. We rode mules to the top of a mountain in their National Forest and then zip lined all the way down. We also had to repel a few times. It was AMAZING! No pics becuase they wouldn't let us take our camera :(

This was the Princess Theater where we saw lots of fun shows, comedians and a ventrilliquists (sp?).

We also went to Cabo where we went tandum parasailing (we were both up at the same time) and whale watching (while we were parasailing) and ate at this yummy restaurant on the beach but all those pictures are on our waterproof disposable camera. It was an amazing trip!
